Cyclone Ridge Kennels is absolutely the best place to get your bloodhound! The care of their dogs and puppies is top notch. Living here in Texas I researched many breeders before I came across Debi and Buddy. They by far have the best of the best! No other bloodhound puppy here in Texas could even be compared to their standard of the breed! Cyclone Ridge's facility is top notch and incredible. These people are nothing but dedicated to what they do. The love they have for each and every puppy and dog they have is incredible. Debi and Buddy put in countless hours to ensure that you get nothing but the best puppy. We waited 1 year for our bloodhound and even though the wait was hard it was worth every minute we had to wait. Nothing but excellence from this couple! We are in love with our girl Ripley and we get so many compliments when we take her out in public! I bet you never thought you could take a bloodhound out in public but we do! We have gone to patio restaurants, home depot (they have even given us free light bulbs and batteries for bringing her in to the store), dog cafe's anywhere that will allow us to be there we take her! Her temperament is perfect and that is all because of these guys! Even though our pup is 1 year old to this day she can hear a video of Debi talking and she immediately will stand up and begin to look around! She remembers her voice even though she spent 10 short weeks with her. Again Cyclone Ridge is the best and when the time is right we will get another bloodhound from them!

JANUARY DOGS OF THE MONTH: BO AND GINGER Bo and Ginger are Blood Hounds that often come to daycare and occasionally board at Sit, Stay, N’ Play. It is rare that we see this breed at our facility and we love taking care of these sweet temperament (and ginormous) pups! What’s your dog’s name, gender, age, breed? Bo (BoCephus): My son named him after the country legend! 3 y/o male Blood Hound, 26/28 inches high at shoulder, and 145 lbs of pure muscle. Ginger: 2 y/o female Blood Hound, 24-26 inches at shoulder, and 150-160 lbs (we like to say she is big boned). Dogs favorite treat? Bo: Loves tracheas ….(and shoes!). Pretty much any people food as well, but only gets meat once in a while. Ginger: Ginger likes anything that is food! I suppose any “treat” excites her (even the occasional cat food or poop)! 🙁 But anything she can chew on like tracheas or rib bones. How were you and your dog united? I researched this breed for a long time. I had Bassets and love the hound breed. But I wanted a bigger dog this time around. My son looked them up and I fell in love. I searched through the AKA website for reputable breeders and found one in Missouri…the rest is history! I spent a lot of time emailing and texting the breeder and once she had a litter confirmed, she picked the one that she felt would match my personality and life style. She was right on! We met them halfway and brought him home. It was love at first site. Ginger is from the same breeder as Bo. She is actually Bo’s niece…if that works in dog terms! However, this time, I actually went on a road trip with my future daughter-in-law and we went to Missouri to pick her up. We got to meet the breeder in person and see the kennel, which is very, very nice. She was so little when we got her, she rode in the floor board of the front seat between Emily’s legs the entire trip! Who is your dog’s best pet-pal? Bo: I would have to say Bo’s best pet pal is Ginger. Even though he wants his special time with me and can be that “bully big brother.” He is super protective of her and waits for her in the morning to go out, etc. He will go to her crate/room to get her! Ginger: Ginger’s best pet pal is –with NO questions– BO! She idolizes him and has from day one! She actually listens to him better than to me…before she does anything I say, she looks at Bo to get the “okay.” She is just now starting to break away from this a bit. I think she likes it when I spoil her now! But she is still right on Bo’s heels all the time. As a matter of fact, they went to puppy jail one day after a little unplanned excursion around the neighborhood and the officer that took them in asked if she was blind because she always had to be touching Bo…I think for security (and yes, he did protect her…would not let anyone near her at first). She looks up to him for protection–she does not have the dominant, confident personality that he has. She does like the cats now, too…she got over the obsession once she figured out what they were! What is your dog’s best quality? Bo: Bo’s best quality is his sweet, sweet personality. He is so smart and doesn’t miss a thing. He loves to cuddle! I can cuddle, kiss, and lay on him all day and he is happy. He gives great eye contact! Ginger: Ginger’s best quality is by far her nose! I think it is much keener than Bo’s. It actually gets her into trouble! When we were at training, she kept stopping at one of the cubes around the perimeter (that is used to train scent dogs for the police). I finally asked what was in it –it was peanut butter!!!! But otherwise, Ginger is very sweet too. Just very, very stubborn. And she loves to be petted…just NO kisses and cuddles…she kind of just gives me a deep sigh and tolerates me then moves away. What is your dog’s favorite climate/weather? Bo: Bo loves/tolerates the cooler weather much better than hot. This is typical for hounds. Ginger: Ginger also tolerates the cooler weather better but is a little frailer than Bo. She does tend to shiver if it’s too cold!! Where does your dog sleep? Bo: Where does Bo sleep??? Well….he has always slept in his crate in my room. I somehow started cuddling with him for a bit before bed and then he would just “go to bed.” But, as time went on, he started sleeping all night in my bed! I planned on putting him and Ginger in the same room eventually but he is kind of my “hearing -ear dog.” I think he senses that it gives me comfort. I am extremely hard of hearing and he lets me know if anyone comes in or up the driveway. So, I guess the answer is…he sleeps with me!! (Although he still has his crate for comfort if needed). Ginger: Ginger sleeps in her crate in the room next to mine–with the cats! She would love to sleep in my bed but not only is she unable to jump up that far–or is too lazy–Bo will NOT let her!!! He won’t let her even inside the door of “our room.” Sometimes if we are napping in the day or go to bed early…she sneaks in while he is asleep and takes a nap towards my side of the bed!! 0 COMMENTS/ Share this entry Search CATEGORIES Blog (30) Boarding (5) Caring for Your Pup (8) Dog of the Month (9) Doggy Daycare (7) Grooming (9) Indoor Park (5) News & Events (28) Training (10) ABOUT US

Nine weeks in and my wife and I could not be happier with our little Rogue Stout. Our home is alive with laughter and our hearts are full of joy. Everyone we meet on the trail and walking down the sunny so cal streets ask "is that a Bloodhound?" And we proudly say "yes"! We then go on to address his huge paws and then pay homage to Cyclone Ridge Kennels and go on to discuss our appreciation for having found and been able to work with such an amazing and caring breeder. From our first email with our completed application to when we picked our pup up at the airport we can honestly say the entire experience was enjoyable. We are blessed to have found these wonderful people and highly recommend utilizing their services and snagging yourself a CRK Bloodhound.

We got a female from the Center of the Storm litter this November. This Kennel (Debi Thompson and Buddy Thompson) go above and beyond the call of duty to raise and provide healthy beautiful puppies. Debi follows through with everything she promises to do and more. She loves and cares for each and every one of her babies. I highly recommend this breeder if you are looking for a puppy. We couldn’t be happier with our new family member.

When Baylie came to us, I realized real quick like that my ‘puppy mama skills’ were a bit rusty. She whipped me into shape in no time. Be prepared for lightning quick arm reaches into the mouth...and often...inside, outside, counters, & floors...pick up EVERYTHING. Be prepared for MAJOR counter surfing. They gain that reach in the blink of an eye. Crate training is amazing. Bell training to go potty is great too. These guys are sooooo smart! Second most important, socialize them and expose them to as much as possible. Fear of things (just in general), can happen easily. My girl is not afraid to scale anything, get on whobbly, moving things, walking through automatic doors. She came unafraid. (Debi works with them on these things before they ever come to you). Baylie actually walks with me when I vacuum b/c she’s been treat trained so as not to be afraid of it. Noises when she’s outside has been a big thing we’ve had to work on. Engage their mind. Debi’s dogs are crazy smart and they want to work for you. At 5 mos Baylie already has her CGC, and is now in a AKC trick class. It’s so much fun to see my girl’s little wheels spinning trying to figure out what I want her to do. She’s thinking and using her mind. That’s healthy for them in so many ways. Last, snuggle, hug, pet, & let em slobber all over ya. Baylie is crazy, but she will just come to me at times and sit by me. She needs some lovin’. At night time she never fails to jump in the bed (and, yes, I swore no more dogs on the bed😬😜), nibble my ears and tuck her muzzle up under my chin. It’s our nightly routine. You’ll love your baby! As you can tell, I do too!❤️😍

We found a new vet the other day and they said Maple Magnolia was the most gorgeous dog they have ever seen. They go what color is she?? It's so different.. and I go she is maple but really a dark liver... she is absolutely perfect. And she is literally everything we wanted or could hope for. She is so sweet and loving and Mooses opposite in every way. Thank you for picking her for us. She is our angel.

Hi Debi, Not sure if you remember me but I’m the Police Sergeant from Texas that purchase one of your female pups this past July. Born May 22, 2017, daughter of Joe and Madison. We named her Abigale but we call her Abby. Anyway, I haven’t spoken to you in a while and I wanted to give you an update on Abby. She is absolutely wonderful and stole our hearts from the start. Such a loving and well mannered dog. Very calm and literally wants to hug and kiss all we will allow. Oh and eat. She LOVES to eat, and would likely empty the bag of food if we let her. She just turned 5 months old and is doing great and growing like a weed. We have not had any problems with her at all and she seems to be very smart, as she picks up on thing fast. Much quicker than our male Bassett Hound did for sure. For whatever reason I believe females learn faster or at an earlier age then males do. My wife agrees and says it’s universal. Meaning with humans too. Abby just finished all of her puppy shots and is taking a Nuvet vitamin everyday as well as a heart worm pill every month. She’s grown a ton over the past three months and weighs 66 lbs. not sure of her height but she’s pretty tall. Towers over our Bassett Hound now, LOL!! Both dogs get along great and play together all the time. I say okay, more like wrestle and mouth each other all the time. I’ll send you a current picture of her as well. Just wanted to give you an update and thank you for allowing me to purchase one of your pups. You efforts definitely pay off as your dogs are truly top notch. Couldn’t ask for a better hound. Thanks again and I’ll send you another update down the road. J. Luker #984 | Sergeant Irving Police Department South Patrol Division 305 N. Thank you so much Debi for our amazing bloodhound pup! He is so well mannered and sweet. We will certainly keep you posted as he grows. Mia is on the closed Facebook group often so look for pics there as well. I was impressed that he's come to us almost fully housebroken (I say "almost" as we did have one incident about an hour ago but we're blaming ourselves as he was whimpering and thought he missed his siblings). Who knows but he's perfect in every way. Thank you again for everything. Sincerely, Rob & Mia
